Walking Home to Maine My Appalachian Trail Journey eBook Rick Merrill Josh Daniel
Rick is a friend of mine and did something I often considered but felt like I didn't have the support or resources. After reading his story and about the hardships he faced along the way, I can now see that these obstacles can be overcome just like the others experienced in life. I'm happy for Rick.I had the pleasure of meeting Draggin Fly on the trail and enjoyed the couple of hours of tales he told. I encourage others to help out those hiking along. You will enjoy the tales they tell, each hiking for different reasons.
I can't complain about what I've done and life experiences along the way and I like his outlook on things. So far, so good.

Walking Home to Maine My Appalachian Trail Journey eBook Rick Merrill Josh Daniel Reviews
Beginning on Chapter 2, this is a great hiking book. I think it is the most well-written of the dozen or so hiking books I've read. This guy is serious about his hike. He explains just enough about the AT to make it interesting without going into detail about every slippery rock, creek crossing, mosquito-infested areas, etc. We got the picture without the details. I enjoyed his description of each shelter/hostel and the people he met on the way. Great read.
entertaining thru-hike story
I really enjoyed reading the journey of. Rick merrill on the famous at. He is such a good writer that I felt like I was right there with him.
Very Nice. Great read for an "armchair" hiker. I'll never do more than sections, but very thorough read. THANKS from a-native Maine-ah!
Fabulous account of the trip! I have read A LOT of books on the trail and they have mostly been great, but this one was the first I gave up sleep to finish. This was a fresh view of the trail by a real person, living real life, on one of the toughest/most beautiful places on Earth. I can't wait for this to be offered in paperback, so I can buy copies for my family!
Walking Home to Maine was much more than a thru hike on the Appalachian Trail.....Walking all the way home was a journey back to life!
The author tells a good story. After reading a dozen AT books this is best one I have seen to describe the difficulties and the rewards. He writes a mature picture and makes the reader feel they are a part of the action.
